Mount Manabu (or Manabo to others) is believed to an abbreviation of “Mataas na Bundok.” It is one of the 3 major peaks of Malipunyo range, the two being Malipunyo summit and the Susong Dalaga peak. It will only take a couple of hours to reach the peak of Mount Manabu which is described by others as ressembling a beautiful garden.
At the peak, you will be welcomed by a grassy summit area with flowering plants and shrubs with blossoms of yellow, red & pink. Mount Manabu’s highest point is marked by a white cross and the beautiful view of the Malipunyo range, as well as Mounts Maculot and Makiling.
Probably because of its geography, it’s usually cloudy in Manabu, lending an almost nostalgic air.
Because of its easy access, short trail, and very beautiful environs, Manabu Peak is a great introduction to hiking for beginners. Even then, veteran hikers rank this mountain as one their favorite ‘fun climb’ destinations.
